Tomato and cheese. This pair is like peanut butter and jelly, ketchup and mustard, macaroni and cheese. Rarely one without the other. This time though, who needs the pizza crust, panini bread, or crackers to accompany this combo? They certainly do fine on their own.

Ingredients — Makes about 2o skewers
Prep time: 15 minutes (not including husking)

20 grape tomatoes
10 fresh mozzarella balls, halved
20 wooden skewers
4-5 basil leaves
Salt and pepper
Cut mozzarella balls in half. On each skewer, add half a mozzarella ball. Follow with a thin slice of basil leaf. Next, add a whole grape tomato; then, the another half mozzarella ball.
In a separate dish, mix 2 parts oil and 1 part vinegar, and salt and pepper. Pour mix over skewers and let soak. Season with salt and pepper.
