I was in search of an easy treat to bring in to my students. I usually make cupcakes, but I didn’t have as much time to create! Instead, I paired pretzels with chocolate and even though this isn’t as flavorful as a cupcake, you can be just as creative with the decorating!
Whether you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day dessert or just a quick treat, try this recipe for a cute treat!
Ingredients-Makes 70-4inch pretzels
2 regular sized bags of pretzel rods
36 ounces white chocolate chips
Gel food coloring
Begin by melting the white chocolate. White chocolate melts really quick so be careful. White chocolate can be easily melted in the microwave, but be sure to stir often. Put a 1/2 cup of chips into a bowl at a time. Alternate microwaving for 15 seconds and stirring. Break pretzels in half so they are each about 4 inches long. When completely melted, add in gel food coloring. To color the chocolate, use gel food. Use a small amount of food coloring until you achieve your desired color. Begin by adding food coloring similar to a grain of rice. Dip pretzels in chocolate as quickly as possible as it will harden. Lay on wax paper, and cover with sprinkles. Pretzels will harden in 30-45 minutes.
